Superdrug has partnered with Dr Pixie McKenna to launch a new online health advice service via an innovative ‘Tweetment Room’.
The Superdrug Tweetment Room, a new health and wellbeing chat show series, will launch on 29th January. Hosted by straight-talking Dr Pixie McKenna of ‘Embarrassing Bodies’ fame, and coming exclusively to the Superdrug Twitter page, the series aims to cut through health myths and medical jargon to give straightforward advice on topics such as sexual health, women’s health and diet and fitness.
In her new role as Superdrug’s wellbeing ambassador, Dr Pixie will be answering questions from Superdrug Twitter followers every month (#TweetmentRoom). She’ll be talking honestly about the nation’s most sensitive health problems and imparting her medical knowledge in the form of bite-sized take-home tips.
In addition to the regular Tweetment Room series, Dr Pixie will also be offering customers expert advice across all of the Superdrug consumer touch-points, in store and online.
Dr Pixie said: “I’m really excited to be part of this new initiative from Superdrug because, as a doctor, I’m passionate about making healthcare as accessible as possible. The beauty of Superdrug as a wellbeing destination is that everything’s under one roof, so this online service is a fantastic next step in making access to expert advice even easier.”
Melanie Wilson, Head of Wellbeing at Superdrug, said: “Dr Pixie is one of the UK’s most popular TV doctors and we’re thrilled to have her on the Superdrug team. We feel her straight talking approach to even the most sensitive of problems will resonate well with our audience.
“We recognise that our customers’ health requirements are changing and we’re always looking for new ways to help meet their needs – the Tweetment Room is a brilliant example of Superdrug making healthcare even more accessible and we hope our customers agree when it launches later this month.”
