LEO Pharma takes walk in aid of National Eczema Society

LEO Pharma colleagues will undertake charity walk for National Eczema Society

27 colleagues from LEO Pharma are taking on the challenge of walking a marathon (26.2 miles) along the Thames Path, from Henley to Windsor, in aid of the National Eczema Society.

Driven by LEO Pharma’s mission to help people achieve healthy skin, the company’s team meets the challenge of making a real difference to patients’ lives in unique ways, both in their daily work and lives.

A recent wellbeing week initiative invited people to take on personal challenges to do something different. All sorts of inspiring activities were undertaken, including a quadrathlon and one individual cycling from Lands End to John O’Groats. #LEOPharmaTREKFEST was born as a result.

Andrew Proctor, the National Eczema Society’s Chief Executive, said: ‘We are delighted the LEO Pharma team have taken on this marathon challenge, to walk 26 miles and raise much-needed funds to help people with eczema. Managing eczema can be a huge challenge for many people, and the dedication of the LEO Pharma team will help us support many more people and families who struggle every day to cope.”

The team is planning to walk the 26.2 mile stretch of the Thames Path from Henley to Windsor over what will be a very long, challenging day on Saturday, 13th July.

Detailing the preparation for the event, Mike Hinchy, Biodermatology Director, LEO Pharma, who is sponsor of the project team, said: “Even in the planning phase there is a real pioneering spirit emerging. We are all training hard and swapping hints and tips, from the best anti-blister socks to the most tasty protein bar.

“The team is committed to completing the challenge together, as one, and raising as much money as possible for the National Eczema Society to help drive positive change for people living with eczema.”

Geraldine Murphy, Vice President Cluster Europe North & AU-NZ, LEO Pharma added: “We applaud the invaluable work that patient organisations, like the National Eczema Society, undertake. In particular their dedication to improving the quality of life of people with eczema and their carers really resonates.

“I am delighted to confirm that LEO Pharma will match the amount of sponsorship raised with an equal donation. Good luck to all the walkers and support crew!”

The team would really appreciate any donations to the National Eczema Society via their JustGiving page.
