Blockchain-based patient mobile application to improve patient engagement

Digital experts to join cancer and mental health teams

The beta-version of a new blockchain-based mobile app for patients is now ready for use.

The patient mobile application, created by Healthereum, is named the ‘Healthereum Life Portfolio’ (HELIO). The app allows patients to:

  • ‘Promise to Show’ for an appointment
  • complete quality care surveys after the visit
  • receive task messages from their doctors
  • view their current diagnoses.

Using blockchain technology, digital tokens are added to the patient’s ‘wallet’ to reward them for time spent on their health.

Attendance to an appointment is gamified, and the doctors can view ahead of time which patients are planning to attend. The simple act of seeing the doctor gives reward tokens but a no-show forfeits them and they are given to the doctor. Completing a review questionnaire is then incentivised to address current poor survey response rates and lack of an honest care team reputation score.

Reward tokens have ‘real life’ value, which is determined by the care team and can be in any form.  Doctors may also send ongoing messages about their diagnosis to the patient’s mobile device.

Healthereum currently has a suite of applications is in various stages of development to provide solutions using a micro-level approach to patient health, utilizing blockchain technology.
