Through its commitment to helping clients make a real commercial impact, Star is partnering with a pioneering Swedish pharmaceutical company which is launching into the UK market with a ground-breaking product for the treatment of opioid addiction.
This innovative product has the potential to greatly improve outcomes for patients and their families, and also make a positive impact in local communities.
As part of this build, Star is recruiting for a team of Regional Outcomes Directors, focusing on the following regions: Scotland, Midlands, South East and South West.
Regional Outcomes Directors
Commercially astute and entrepreneurial business leaders are required for senior Regional Outcome Director roles across:
- South East
- South West
The successful Regional Outcomes Directors will have full responsibility for market access and business management for the launch and commercialisation of this highly-innovative product within defined accounts.
They will be responsible for high-level engagement across payer stakeholder groups within the local government authorities and the local health economies, to deliver the value proposition to secure funding and protocol inclusion for the product. The role requires taking full ownership of the regional and local account plans and accountability for driving commercial outcomes and delivering optimal return on investment.
The Regional Outcomes Directors will also be responsible for deploying appropriate pull through commercial resource at the right time and optimising services to enable uptake of the product.
Successful candidates will be strategic thinkers with proven business acumen and the ability to deliver innovative customer solutions. They will have experience of managing and delivering financial goals, along with market access and service re-design. A proven track record in developing win-win partnerships with wide stakeholder and influencer groups, ideally including stakeholders outside the standard pharmaceutical industry contacts is also required.
Medical Science Liaisons
Alongside the Regional Outcomes Directors, Star is also recruiting two Medical Science Liaisons. With extensive experience of the pharmaceutical environment, the Medical Science Liaisons will advance medical objectives and be responsible for providing medical and scientific support externally to customers and internally to other functions in the company within a defined geographical area.

In collaboration with the Regional Head of Medical Affairs, the Medical Science Liaisons will be responsible for the management of key opinion leaders in the area. They will also be part of, and assist, the global medical affairs organisation as needed at national and international meetings and conferences. Successful candidates will require a strong understanding of the ABPI Code of Practice and company Standard Operating Procedures, ensuring that the company is compliant with all Codes of Practice.
As the medical face of the organisation, successful candidates should have a proven track record of developing key relationships with local, national and international stakeholders, and an ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high pressure and changing environment.
