Carlyn Solomon, formerly of Edwards Lifesciences, has been appointed as Hill-Rom’s new chief operating officer.
Mr Solomon will join the company, the leading provider of medical technologies for the health care industry including hospital beds, patient lifts, and non-invasive therapeutic products, in November 2014.
Mr Solomon will have responsibility for all of Hill-Rom’s global commercial, research and development, quality assurance, regulatory affairs and supply chain operations.
He spent nine years at Edwards Lifesciences, where he was credited with significantly accelerating revenue growth and improving profitability while serving in a number of roles. Previous to working at Edwards, Mr Solomon spent 18 years at Baxter.
John Greisch, Hill-Rom’s president and chief executive officer, said: “Carlyn’s expertise in growing businesses and improving operations makes him the ideal chief operating officer for us, and will enable me to devote much more of my attention to our growth strategy.”
